Isle of Man Office Launch

20th June 2016 //  by admin

The team at Artisan Real Estate Investors celebrated the move to their new offices on Victoria Street, Douglas.

Sixty guests and members of staff enjoyed champagne and canapes and were spoilt to spectacular views across Douglas bay on a sunny evening.

In the run up to the TT, Artisan also took the opportunity to introduce the local side car team of Melvin Racing.

Chief executive officer Jaco Jansen, welcomed guests to the second floor of Clarendon House and reflected on the successful history of Artisan as a focused UK property developer since 2008.

Jaco pointed out that although the company has extensive planning and development expertise through its experienced team in UK, it has always very much been at home on the Isle of Man and remains firmly headquartered here continuing to expand its team locally to underpin growth.

Jaco thanked the team, funding partners, advisors and service providers for their commitment and contribution towards the company’s successes to date.

Jaco explained that Artisan is a property developer focusing on mixed-use developments on brownfield sites in regional UK cities.

He pointed out that the team are currently developing three large regeneration projects across Edinburgh, Wiltshire and Sussex comprising 1.5 million square feet of residential, retail, hotel and office space with a gross development value of around £400m.

Across its development sites, Artisan is also committed to deliver more than 1,200 residential units.

Jaco explained that Artisan sees the trend in the UK of urbanisation accelerating over the next decade which, coupled with the structural under-supply of housing and the pro-active measures taken by government to devolve more central authority and control locally to regional UK cities, provides a favourable backdrop for a skilled, mixed-use developer.

Jaco referred to the New Waverley project in the heart of Edinburgh city as a perfect example of how Artisan are delivering an innovative, location specific development which has transformed the inner city area into a vibrant and cool destination while at the same time generating exceptional returns for funding partners.

Jaco also pointed out that, despite, or perhaps as a consequence of, the uncertainties around the upcoming UK referendum, Artisan had built up an exciting pipeline of future deals.

Jaco then introduced local sidecar team Melvin Racing which comprised Craig Melvin and Stuart Christian.

Artisan has sponsored this side car team since the start of their racing careers and are proud to be associated with such a committed team who have worked very hard to prepare for this years’ TT.

Jaco and attendees wished the team well for the 2016 event and guests were invited to chat to the team and view the bike parked outside.
